About The Founder

Rev. (Mrs.) Christiana Bamidele George was born on Dec. 12th 1955, the first Child of Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, a former Governor of Bendel State and Former Minister of Labor & Productivity, Nigeria.

She finished both her Primary and Secondary education in Benin City, Edo State, before proceeding to Ahamdu Bello University, Zaria, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) in Accountancy.

In 1990, she received the call of God on her life to help the less privileged in the society.

Thirsty for biblical knowledge, she proceeded to International Bible Institute in London where she graduated in Biblical Studies.

To accomplish this task of humanitarian service to the poor, she established the Strong Tower Mission, a Christian charity Organization whose aims are:

(1) To care for the underprivileged in the society i.e. the poor, destitutes, widows, orphans and abandoned children in the society.
(2) To engage in charity work of all description and generally demonstrate the Love of God to all men irrespective of race, color or creed.

Presently, the Mission operates five “Family Relief Centers” (i.e. Palmgrove, Egbe, Abule-Egba, Abeokuta and Badagry, all in Lagos State) where the needs of the poor are met daily.

The heartbeat of the Mission is Little Saints' Orphanage. The vision of the founder and board of Trustee is to establish at least five quality orphanages in Nigeria. The first orphanage is situated at Akowonjo, in Lagos with a branch in Palmgrove Estate, Ilupeju, Lagos.

The Orphanage is open to any abandoned/abused or orphaned child brought to its doorstep. It works in collaboration with the Police and good Samaritans who find the children. The orphanage also works in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare in the area of adoption and fostering. Over a thousand children have passed through the orphanage. More than 50% of the children have been adopted while others were fostered or reconciled to their families.

Currently the orphanage has over 100 children ranging from one day old to eighteen years. The Mission recently completed a 200-bed hostel at the main Orphanage to rehabilitate more children.

Even though the work is enormous, she has been able to cope with the help of God, the support of her husband, her own three biological children, the Missionaries of the Mission, board of Trustee and a few compassionate friends.

In recognition of her work, she has received various awards such as:

“HEROES” Award 1995 from NTA Good Morning Nigeria, THE OUTSTANDING YOUNG PERSON OF NIGERIA 1996 from Nigeria Junior Chambers, 2nd MEE MOFE-DAMIJO AWARD 1998 from ALUMNI Association Nigeria, Institute of Journalism, NIGERIA WOMEN AWARDS 1998 for “VOLUNTARY ACTIONS”, CITY PEOPLE FOR EXCELLENCE ‘98 FOR “HUMANITARIAN SECTOR” and the charity Entertainment Organisation of Nigeria (CEON) “MOTHER OF GOODWILL’ Award ‘98 and AIT Emotan Award 2001, City people “Female Achiever” 2001, Award 2001, Amazons Outstanding Achievement Award 2001, Opal Award 2001, Rotary Club of Ikoyi Award for Excellence 2002, House on the Rock Champions Award for Charity 2002, Female Minister Forum South African Award for Humanitarian Services 2002.
